Some preliminary lessons will be devoted to the analysis of legislation related to the birth of the concept of cataloging in Italy. Starting from some edicts released in the papal States, in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany and in the Republic of Venice, we will study various measures of post-unitary state, with particular reference to the laws of 1909 and especially of 1939. Through the various entry formats processed in the course of the years, we reach the paths up to the standards in use today. In view of the number of hours available and the training needs of the students, we will be investigate in-depth the OA entry, the most used by art historians; will be studied vocabularies OGTD (object) and MTC (technique) for entries F (photography), S (prints), MI (matrices engraving), D (design), NU (numismatics), BDM (goods Demoethnoanthropological materials) in order to enable students to take advantage of any card format depending on their need for research and work. In the second part of the course will proceed to the practical compilation of cards and informatizationzation programs in use today at the Superintendents (SIGEC). The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge on cataloging of works of art and problems associated with the completion of the data, following the norms of compilation released by ICCD (Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation The MIBACT).
