Creative X Fi Drivers UbuntuCreative Worldwide Support

=X-fi Surround 5. USB + Ubuntu = bad sound, no remote control??Hi, I'm new in this forum. I bought X-fi surround soundcard and switched to Ubuntu OS. Are there any special drivers for X-fi surround? I tried newest ALSA drivers and got results mentioned here: Creative is manufacturer of this card, that's why I ask for help here. I think, Ubuntu support is great, but when ALSA team don't have enough information for creating a driver, it's too hard for them to support an x-fi card. I'm definitely not the only one person using Linux.

Cs Condition Zero Maps Pack Free Download. Will be an driver for this card EVER? There are some drivers for x-fi, but only PCI based, not USB. There are some drivers for creative remote controls(x-fi platinum I think), but not for this card. It won't be that hard to create working driver, or help ALSA dev community to do it.

Why the hell is there hardware without driver and support? The hardware is here more than year and no drivers? Sound output works for me pretty fine with alsa's snd-usb-audio (in debian sid, at least).

But that's all for it. And regarding?link to someone responsible? I'm afraid it would link to nowhere: no one is really responsible for Linux drivers for this device at Creative. Had problems installing drivers for this sndcard even in Windows 7.

A Lot Like Birds Plan B Rar on this page. Special features don't work. - to Creative, will not ever buy again.

Although I'm pretty much stuck with this sndcard for quite a while? Re: X-fi Surround 5. USB + Ubuntu = bad sound, no remote contr[list] Thank you for your reply. I'm glad that I'm not the only one stuck with that soundcard on linux, especially, if the sound works for you. Can you provide your output for these queries in shell (I don't have sound, you have, it would be pretty cool to have it in Ubuntu): lsb_release -rd uname -r cat /proc/asound/version cat /proc/asound/cards Does the sound have any pops and cracks(is it clean)? (I can't say it's clean) Did you do anything special to make it work?
