Devlin's own wife Kennedy is living with Multiple Sclerosis, and Devlin is himself, her carer, so the film will have elements based on the directors own experiences. “I have always had an affinity with Quadrophenia due to growing up in Brighton and remembering the Mod gathering and scooters then. My youth and view of Brighton is fused with the film and the Mod scene. The outsider element at the core of the film focuses on young carers who battle caring for love ones, the dynamics of parent and child is upturned causing strain. 'The challenges I face are how to follow my artistic ambitions with my day-to-day life looking after Kennedy, my terminally ill wife. When coming to shoot drama I will have extra, specialist care in place for my partner in order to carry out film production and to concentrate on it fully.'
